What did you do in the garden today?

The blueberry bushes are in their forever home now. Heavily mulched around them with oak leaves. I need to clean out the grass that's growing in the "old" part of the blueberry bed. That is a long hard battle.

I dug 6 more hugel holes and buried old, dry rotted apple wood in them. That soil is so heavy it could be made into pots. FULL of earthworms, though, so it has some goodness to it. I can really tell where it was mulched last year versus where it wasn't. Progress indeed.

Have the electrician coming in tomorrow to replace the bathroom 50cfm with a 110 or 130 cfm fan. When that sucker turns on, I want to see the neighbor's curtains move!
I am so sick of dealing with moisture/mildew/mold issues in this bathroom, hopefully this and the new switch that keeps the fan running 30 minutes post shower SHOULD do the trick. Phew.

Good evening all. It has been windy for days with no end in sight. Today was better than yesterday at least, longer periods of breezes instead of wind. We decided to use an auger to dig holes for the fruit trees. It’ll break through any caliche and help with drainage. Right now the apricots and plums are right next to the lemon tree. The pots get shade from the lemon tree by late morning/ early afternoon. I have to leave them there until mid month when hubs is off to help with that. This weekend I have a few things to transplant into the shade garden, but tomorrow I need to find a spot for the sugarcane. Going to get caught up!

@NewBoots did you buy at TSC or do you have one nearby? That's usually where I source mine. The pet store prices will make steam come out your ears...
They won't ship to us here and even if they would the cost of shipping is like 3 times the cost of the shavings. That said, I might take a day trip there and stock up. It would give me a chance to pick up the things I just can't get here, sort of a shopping day trip. Two hours there and another two coming back but it sounds like a fun trip anyway. :) I'd need to download plenty of podcasts or a couple of books but I don't mind a bit of a drive.
My dog is at the vet getting his teeth cleaned, poor thing. It killed me to leave him after the start he had in life & DH felt so guilty not feeding him this am like he does every single morning. Poor guy was starving when we got him, he was 12 lbs & is now 30. I hate to make him go hungry when he was almost starved to death.
Our Penny was a rescue too and I struggle to not fixate on the ^$%## that mistreated her or on how bad her life must have been. She's with us now and no one will ever be cruel to her again.
Its either the Rona from the graduation or a reaction to a tick I pulled off me at Noon.
Get some rest and lots of fluids and don't wait to call your doctor. I hope you feel better soon. If they are safe for you, ibuprofen and tylenol are your friends.
