What did you do in the garden today?

I finally decided to put my house on sale. I will (once again) keep a small part of the garden for those few things I already planted and fence the rest for my poultry. I will transplant peppers and a few zucchini to the pots so I can take them with me. if tomatoes start growing fast I will dig a few of them up and pot as well. too many things to do. I have to get rid of a truck load unnecessary things before I can paint the house, inside and 2 sides outside. there is a shed attached to 1 side - I will not bother with it and back side is in a good shape, right next to the back fence.

Good morning gardeners. Hubs insisted the grass seed he bought will sprout in our warm temps and he tossed out seed yesterday to fill in the bare spots. I bought two bags of mushroom compost for him to spread over the seed so the birds don’t see it and eat it. He did a good job and we had just enough compost to do it. I watered that first thing this morning and man it smells good! I’m in the process of mixing some coco coir and perlite with soil to pot the banana tree I got the other day, then it’s housework for today. I hate housework but it’s supposed to our hottest day today so I’m pretty sure I’d rather be inside than out. Enjoy yourselves in your gardens!

Good morning gardeners. I made some progress on the mowing yesterday. There was a little hiccup when I went to start up my little garden tractor. Dead battery. I found a replacement battery at the auto parts store and it started right up once I installed the new one. So front yard is done and looking pretty good. At least every thing is even now. I did get the trimming done in the backyard so hoping to mow that today but first I must do the treacherous side slope. That and pull another bizillion dandelions. Yes, I pulled weeds for 45 minutes in front of the chicken yard. It really is a pain to pull them all up, but getting the root up is the most effective way I know to really get rid of them. I just finished up-potting the rest of my seedlings. I'm a little disappointed I won't be able to put them outside until Monday. It's windy with highs in the mid 55's today and tomorrow. Then the temps will soar into the 80's later this week. Good grief. I took a picture of my Frittalaria looking up into the bloom. I thought it was pretty cool. Also got a shot of my "peony like" tulip. My first row of kale is still growing and I can definitely see the chard and endive popping through the soil. The onions are growing really fast so I'm thinking a second planting after I pull these up. Still getting asparagus, wondering what a blast of hot sun will do at the end of the week. Have a great day all.
