Just plant them whole?
I meant you should cut them when you plant them. on the pic they look as if you cut them first then let them sprout. sorry if I got it wrong.

Just plant them whole?
I left them whole to sprout and then cut them just the night beforeI meant you should cut them when you plant them. on the pic they look as if you cut them first then let them sprout. sorry if I got it wrong.
I can absolutely relate. My goats and chickens share the same yard/run but each have their own houses/coops. Much of my time is spent figuring out ways to keep the goats OUT of stuff I bring in for the chickens...Not really gearden stuff, except maybe the fertilizer I get, but, the goats. The young ones. Born in January so they're not so little anymore. Probably about 30-35 lbs. now. The chicken pen is in the goat pen. There is a little door I use to let the chickens into the 1 acre goat pen. The door is about 12" x 15". It's left open during the day so the late layers can lay in the nests and they will be back in their place by bedtime. Was feeding this evening when I heard a noise that I had never heard in the chicken pen before. Sounded like hoofs on wood. The little guys had gotten thru that little door, First time ever, and had eaten all the chicken feed outta the feeder. About 30 lbs. of it! When they saw me they left probably a lot faster than they came in. They didn't get fed very much tonight!
I've done that.... It's ridiculous how much money I've spent on dandelion seed but it never seems to grow. I DO have one spot right along my driveway that has dandelions (which were already there, not from my seeding efforts) but they are very tiny. The flowers are probably dime sized... The dandelions here at my in-laws are easily half dollar sized or bigger. I gathered a ziploc bag full of seed from their property plus I'd like to take 3-4 transplants too. I have a sunny spot on the back side of my pond dyke that should be ideal. Good soil and moisture there which also drains well. I'm hoping they will do well in that location and then I can propogate other areas from there...if the chickens, goats, and horses don't eat them first.@TJAnonymous why don’t you just buy some dandelion seed? Available on Amazon and eBay, organic even.
Rhubarb is very tough, transplant & water & it will be fine. Obviously you won't get anything this year & be gentle next year. I love that everything you build is quality & pretty. Like your bean towers, I just love them.
You wouldn't believe how many dandelions I have here, it drives DH crazy that I wish for them. LOL. I sure do wish I could send you some somehow.
My lettuce , spinach, cole crops and a few others are winter crops where I am. I plant 'em in Sept/Oct, depending on the weather. They are done by about April, Gone to seed.my lettuce and spinach are done for the season. I didn't harvest them as I want to save seeds.
