What did you do in the garden today?

Don't give up... We've all been there. Take the lessons you learned this year and figure out how to improve for next year.

I think about all the money I've wasted trying to grow just a few vegetables. FAR more than I'd pay just buying them at the store. But the truth is that this is an investment in an education. I'm learning and every year gets a little better than the year before...
Yeah, I will keep trying but the extra discouraging thing is that even though last year's stunk, it was better than this year, so I am going in the wrong direction.

I am so sorry! That has to be beyond frustrating!
Is moving an option? Or ya staying put?
Have u tried the high tunnels?
I was told that if you let city water sit out for 24 hours in buckets that the icky stuff like chlorine will evaporate out of it.
I haven't tried it but wondered!
Moving is not really an option and I love the rural-ness of it here. I have not tried high tunnels - the wind (20 mph is "normal" here and 50 mph is not shocking) makes it hard to construct anything without it getting absolutely wrecked. We have well water here.

You should check out you county agricultural extension agency. They will have pertinent info for your area. They may even offer gardening classes.

But, each problem can be addressed, it feels overwhelming when there are many problems to address.

What has grown best? What problem is the easiest to solve? To feel less frustrated, focus on these two things to begin with. Grow the things that grow best, fix or improve at least one easy problem.

Hopefully you can have better success soon.
I do keep up with that info and have gone to gardening classes. Sigh. NOTHING has grown this year. Even my fruit trees, which usually are explosive, had NOT ONE SINGLE FRUIT this year on ANY of them...it was weird. That has never happened before. It could be because we had a late frost, maybe that killed all the blossoms? Or, the insane wind blew off all the blossoms? Or both....I don't know, but sure seems like the universe is against me right now. 🤪

Sending this to neighbor who's trap it is.. she just came over and said that's not squash it's yellow cucumbers.
We gonna get this devil tonight! Or tomorrow night since it usually skips a night!
Plus DH just hooked up new camera so game in critter!!!
I fry them cut slices coat flour and pepper it is a yellow cucumber.

Follow @WthrLady. She deals with high wind constantly. She can give you tips on constructing things to withstand them.

Finally getting relief from the chiggers . Tried about everything . I hope the lawn insecticide helps . So old remedies , soak in a really hot bath for 1/2 hour , put nail polish on bites to smother chiggers . Now the new method . Just dab a little gas on the bites . Kills the little buggers instantly . Itching stops .
YES. Drown em out with diesel. LOL. Did that in the fields of alabama at a military camp. Can always rely on finding a bit to use on the inside of a jeep/transport vehicle. Can't do THAT with an electric vehicle!!! LOL.
