What did you do in the garden today?

Here is a recipe I made up years ago . For those looking for new ways to use summer squash . Mock apple pie . Ones that got a little big slice in half and remove seeds and peel . slice crosswise like apple slices . Enough for a pie . Put in saucepan add cider or apple juice . Enough liquid to cook . Allow for shrinkage so as not to have too much liquid . Sweeten and add your usual apple pie spices . Dissolve cornstarch in cool water . Add to mixture to thicken . Put in pie crust and bake until crust is done .

I purposely got in touch with covid positive people so that I could get an excuse for not being vaccinated. nothing. as my mind ignore the whole thing my body does it too.

hope your DS gets well soon and you stay well.
My DH, DS, and I have all had Covid twice... Both infections occurring 4 months apart, no less. My DD has never gotten it despite living in the same household. She went on a school trip last month where several students came down with it. She still never got it. I think some people have a natural immunity already... None of us are vaccinated.

Man....this is WAR!!!
Stinkin critter, whatever it is, got in raised bed and dug up the seeds that had almost germinated. Then went to other end and got tomatoes and basil again.
Then decided it was brave enough to go in the trap, eat the carrots and leave the squash behind...all while NOT getting caught!
For size reference these container bags are 10 gallon and the trap is right beside em.
Pretty good size trap!
Any ideas what I'm dealing with that could avoid getting caught in trap?

My husband and I got vaccinated only because we had an infant during the biggest surge. We've still had it twice he was asymptomatic once and I was asymptomatic once...our ds asymptomatic the time he was around out of the womb for 🤣. Being pregnant during the pandemic was a pain because every family member I have wanted to talk in the phone about being pregnant.... and I just wanted to sleep and not puke

I can't even fathom what is able to do all that and then also be smarmy enough to go in the trap and eat some veggies only to leave....maybe a ground hog? Is it rooting and digging things up or is it just taking from the surface?

I am so sorry! That has to be beyond frustrating!
Is moving an option? Or ya staying put?
Have u tried the high tunnels?
I was told that if you let city water sit out for 24 hours in buckets that the icky stuff like chlorine will evaporate out of it.
I haven't tried it but wondered!
Chlorine in city water will evaporate after about 24 hours. It's cousin, chloramine, which is a bonded chlorine and ammonia atom, takes 3-5 days. I used to keep fish, so I'm into the science of it.

I keep not havin my phone with me to take pics of destruction...it's digging holes. Dirt will be thrown out of bed or pot. It has eaten potatoes and left the skins for me in the pot! Occasionally it does dig up entire plant. Purple basil is dead cuz it kept digging it up. Whatever it is doesn't like cantaloupe cuz it hadn't touched any of those or the leaves and of course I have tons of that!
It dug up all of the nasturtium and they died.

Yesterday in my garden, I came to grips with the fact that even though I've worked my arse off on it again this year, it is a total 100% failure, again. So discouraging.
Don't give up... We've all been there. Take the lessons you learned this year and figure out how to improve for next year.

I think about all the money I've wasted trying to grow just a few vegetables. FAR more than I'd pay just buying them at the store. But the truth is that this is an investment in an education. I'm learning and every year gets a little better than the year before...

I think it's everything. I live in the high desert, southwest Utah. We've had no rain for MONTHS. I keep up with watering (and fertilizing) but...who knows what's in the water. Scorching heat, and we always have really high winds........and of course gophers, deer, various bugs, but I think they are the least of it. Everything I planted got to a certain point and simply refuses to grow any farther.
Are you planting in the ground? Raised beds? Aerogarden?
