What did you do in the garden today?

I have the ac on, but I probably just won't can while it's this hot. I did broth in the house a week or 2 ago, but it wasn't this bad out. Waterbath - nah. I don't need any stinkin pickles that bad! I'd freeze tomatoes if I planned on doing any, which I don't. Not doing pickles either. Maybe dilly beans toward the fall, maybe not. Those I always do outside, I have a Ball electric waterbath canner.

I decided to sow some pumpkin (New England Sugar Pie) and carrots (Cosmic Purple) in a couple of 5 gallon buckets just for the heck of it.

We'll see how they do compared to the ones sown in the ground in the garden.
