What did you do in the garden today?

My MIL gave me a pair with no holes in them. I wore them in the garden and around the barn all the time. Now they have disappeared.... And I can't seem to find any new ones. I don't want the ones with holes in them....that just seems silly to me.

You never lived at the coast I take it. These are small shovels to dig razor clams at the beach. Have to get photo but google clam shovel.

The ones with holes are great on a boat or on the beach. Lets you flap around in the sand / water and it drains right out and you are not squishing around all day. In the garden, not so much as it lets you get poked and poinked by things and creatures. Any flip flop is great for paddling a cockatoo's ass though as he literally giggles and runs across the top of the cage when I threaten to swat him with one He won't 'step up' onto the perch he knows whats waiting for him heh.

I've seen sand shovels before... Just not sure how or why you'd use them to keep rats out of the coop!

They are the same width of the cinder blocks. Half shovel is the same shovel fits. Less movement is my friend.

I should be seeing them soon! I grow dill & butterfly weed specifically for them. I love how pretty the chrysalis' are, they look like jewels!

Yes, that’s so awesome! We planted a bunch of stuff for them too.
So far I have counted 8 caterpillars and one’s almost ready for pupa stage:

I’m hoping they all make it to adulthood before wintertime so that they can migrate away from here.
