Yes, that’s so awesome! We planted a bunch of stuff for them too.
So far I have counted 8 caterpillars and one’s almost ready for pupa stage:View attachment 3230817
I’m hoping they all make it to adulthood before wintertime so that they can migrate away from here.

That's great! They'll do fantastic. I looked at my butterfly weed today & I don't see any yet, should be soon, it's getting late!

Good afternoon gardeners. We made it to 90F today so that makes it official. The third heat wave this summer. Good grief. I got the gardens in the back watered earlier and picked some okra and tomatoes. I picked all those that were turning orange. I found two tomatoes that were nibbled on and they were just barely orange. My late planting of summer squash is looking good and fingers crossed they look like they’re developing flower buds. The peas and turnips seem to be doing well. Rain is forecasted for tomorrow along with cooler temps but higher humidity. This hot weather in August is not normal for this area. Glad the damage from that storm wasn’t any worse for you @igorsMistress. I’ve seen some of the reports on the news and it seemed pretty bad. Sounds like there may be more from this tropical system coming up from the southwest.

He will rock out to a lot of music. I have a very old video of him dancing to that childrens song the chicken dance where you flap your arms... yep, I am sure there is a very special space in hell reserved for me for doing that one Ill have to record him some more sometime, he gets goofy when he really gets going !

Thanks Sarah, we were blessed in many ways despite the loss of a few plants so I’m happy. I believe there’s more rain predicted for later and then we should dry out for a few days.

Not yet. Trimmed it down, bagged it and put it in the fridge for now.

I don’t know what you used to trim/cut it, but I can tell you firsthand that the quail egg scissors work great!

That looks like the same one we have.

Better half bought it years ago new .. The old house had a area under the breakfast room he enclosed to keep tools safe. The area had been all dirt he concreted the area totally.
