What did you do in the garden today?

looked at it and hoped that snow would soon cover the mayhem

our garden is done for the winter all i have left is to clean it up with all the dead plants to the compost pile, but a very good turn out this year.

Garden is about 70% cleaned up. Painted the frame to the top of the hay bale cold frame today. Got measurements for the green house tarp for the chicken's sun room today. Hoses put away, but I need to drag 2 out of storage so I can keep the green house watered. I may even store them in the green house for easy access. Hubby came up with the brain storm of coiling them up in old tires. Each tire will hold about 100 l.f. of hose. Keeps them neatly coiled, and you can stack the tires. Picked apples at my dtr's new home. 2 acre parcel on property that was once part of the first commercial apple orchard in my state. Found an Elderberry bush that was loaded with fruit there. Will take cuttings from it in the spring.

Do you know what type of apples they are? I have about 8 or so of my own. I mostly have granny smith and some seeds I got from the American germoplasm repository for a homeschool project with my kids. I love fresh apples!

I haven't even seen an elderberry bush since I was a kid... brings back fond memories though.

Sounds like you got it all going on! :)

Awesome deal on the apples and elderberries!

My tomato plants decide to start making tomatoes again and no stink bugs around! I have a bell pepper plant still producing. We pulled up everything else.
I can hardly wait till my elderberry plants start producing!
