What did you do in the garden today?

Processed dog foods, they may claim has Sheep, Chicken, FIsh, whatever in it, but what species, how much, and what parts? THAT is the scary thing. Id' strongly suspect dog food has the stuff they can't hydrolize, ammoniate, or whatever else to make it where humans would eat it. As George Carlin said about Hot dogs. Lips and Buttholes.....

The spiralizer, I just now seen that, hmm just what I need ANOTHER COOKING TOY !!!

I'll put it right next to the cauliflower ricer......
when I die, someone is going to inherit some mighty crazy cooking stuff !!
(and a rotten bird but don't tell them that!! )

@Sueby OMG are you trying to make us all berserk? That duck looks soooooo good! @Duckpip, don't forget fritters! Veg fritters are great but if you make them with zucchini, they're even better.

Just finished canning 11 pints of salsa using my own tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapenos and serranoes. Of course what I really want right now is a roast duck. Oh man, back in Portland there were a couple of asian markets where they had roasted ducks like the roasted chickens that costco and safeway have. You could just go to a store and buy a heavenly rotisserie duck nearly any time of the day. I do miss Portland sometimes.

I have made many INCREDIBLE salsa's before, all fresh stuff, absolutely wonderful... but. you better eat them in a day or three or they will want to start fermenting... Yes yes I know add some vinegar, etc but it'd change the flavor profile i have, so NO. TBH it never lasted that long really, when i got company over and I got my famous cheese dip and salsa going, and the spinach dip and home made pumpernickel bread. yah, it don't last long.

ok, disclaomer. some times it's pumpernickel bread.. other times its pumperbrickel bread. :D

I've been sort of neglecting my garden (I've got a whole bunch of tomatoes to pick, and I don't even know when the last time was that I watered my plants (it rained fairly recently, but I should probably pull up all or some of the plants soon)), so I haven't really checked on my plants in a while. So, when I went to go check on the zucchini plants yesterday, I found probably the biggest zucchini I had ever seen in-person. I was (and am) stoked. I would appreciate if anyone has any good recipes for something like this!

Zucchini boats all the way

Thundering/Lightning and raining all around us for hours, but not here.
Will walk the garden and grab any reds that have finished over the last couple of days and process those with what is in the kitchen and let simmer while I go to the charity shop in the next village. (DH will be home)
I have plans to remove the top of the hoop house and replace it with windows and lumber. The plastic is degrading quickly and raining down all over the place, which is not at all what I want, so probably sooner than later.
Will put the finished tomato plants out of their misery and trim to the ground.
Wisteria is going too. It's taking over the world.
