What did you do in the garden today?

While at the allergy clinic this morning, there was a sweet little 18 month old girl who was high in energy, so I let her watch my live chicken cam while mom got her shot. I then taught her that chickens say 'bok, bok', which she then repeated and got stuck on a loop. Mom took home a bok bok baby. LOL.

Good afternoon all. Got another garden bed cleaned up this morning. Just have the big 16 foot bed to tackle. I have a few pea pods developing however the temps are getting ready to plunge. I’ll likely call it quits on that in a few days and pull the carrots and clean it all up. Took the dogs for their mani pedis before lunch. I bagged up a big bag of leaves from the chicken yard. It’s still too windy, but hopefully tomorrow I can get them on the garlic bed. I have a garlic sprout peeking through the soil. Yay! Hopefully more to come. I also cleaned my pellet stove and two of the big windows in the sunroom. I’m done for the day. Oh, and I got another egg today. Not complaining, but those hens need to take a break. Lol!

Good afternoon all. @WthrLady good job on the both counts! @Acre4Me one of my grandsons would eat ramen every day if I let him 🙄 he asks for it Japanese now. @Wee Farmer Sarah are you still without snow and above normal temps? Crazy. I have to get dinner going early so I can go with hubs to drop off our ballots this evening. Nothing like waiting until almost the last minute! I’m watering a few things on a trickle today even though we have a chance of rain later in the week because I doubt we’ll get anything here. I found out that the likely chick killer is the neighbors cat so I’ve got the BB gun loaded and ready. I keep checking for it, but the chickens told me yesterday and that’s how I found out for sure. One of the girls started talking and I was out there and saw her slowly approaching the garden fence; sure enough it was under the lilac, hidden by low branches. So I’ll be trimming up the lilac this week and the lemon tree will get a good trim after harvest. There are a few other things that need trimming too, I was hoping to wait until late Winter but that’s probably not a good idea.

Found a volunteer on my acreage! Cuke or melon. Today I did some last cleanup before the hurricane. Quail pens are strapped down but I’m still bringing the birds inside.

The temps have been seriously warm here for the past week. It was 80F inside the chicken coop this afternoon. I have the ceiling fans going to get the air moving. The temps are just now heading back to the normal range. It feels so good, but I’m a bit tired of the wind from the cold front moving in. Tomorrow is laundry, voting and a grocery store run. Good to know you found your predator @igorsMistress. People who free range their cats annoy the crap out of me. They kill more birds than rodents.

Agghh!!
She did it AGAIN!
There is NOTHING IN THERE, It is EMPTY !!

WHY do you keep literally having to duck and crawl into the stupid trap and back far enough to set it off and trap yourself? I got over half an acre and you just HAVE to go visit that foot and a half parcel of land???

STOP already, good lord you are embarrassing your species !!

Baby girl once again clanks herself in the have a hart trap.
Well her pattern DOES like one of those old prison uniforms so maybe it's fitting !!
Maybe she was a convict in a previous life and the bars suit her?
I give up
Aaron
I caught a skunk in an empty trap once, so maybe you're on to something with the uniform!
