Yesterday, shortly after I posted, I received word that my Dad passed away suddenly. They think it was a clot in his lung. Thank you all, for all the well wishes that you sent my way. Really means a lot. I may not be on much for a while. There's a lot to do.

Funny, y'all are getting snow & its tropical here - we slept with the AC on. But the cold air is on its way, Nicole is gone. Back to 30s instead of 70s at night.

So I finally got the Dahlia tubers all dug & cleaned up & just drying in the wind now. I had 15 Dahlia plants out there this year. Some were so big I had to cut them down with the sawzall. Had to get the tractor out to bring them to compost. My Dahlia obsession is out of hand.

I picked & cleaned the last of the parsley. I like my herbs frozen instead of dehydrated so they'll go in the freezer with the sage & thyme I did last weekend. I covered the herb beds with leaves.

I was surprised to see the EWO succumbed to the frost - I was thinking they'd be a little heartier & I would be able to use some in the winter. They may have to go.

I cleaned out the chicken feeders. The girls are happily grazing on a pumpkin from my sister & a bit of the leftovers from the broth making. A little protein to get them through the molt.

Off to move all the pots to winter storage (a corner in the yard, lol). Have a good day gardeners.

My only sibling, my younger brother, died suddenly at 42 years old the end of September. He had 4 kids, 2 of them are 11 and 7. I cry every single day I love and miss him so much.

So sorry for your loss @Elyrian1. Yes, I agree @Sueby it’s been feeling a little tropical here as well. It was 70F when I got up this morning. We got a little over an inch of rain from Nicole’s remnants. The wind is blowing in a cold front now. Back to the real November temps tomorrow morning. Yesterday I went with DD to have my Veteran’s Day lunch. This evening we’re going to play Meat Bingo. This is a fundraiser for our local food pantry. We’ve never been so we thought it would be fun. I ordered extra compost and fertilizer to be delivered. I only have maybe one day to get the leaves blown out of the back yard. It’s supposed to rain again Sunday then rain and snow showers on Wednesday. I’m really hoping these cooler temps will stop these windy days. I’m not a windy day person.
