Morning Gardeners. We have a tiny grocery here in town that has beef bones like 3 or 4 to a bag. 3 to 5 dollars per bag.

This is the first time we have been "all done" with the leaves this early. They've helped us by coming down earlier than usual.Got the rest of the run covered & cut new filters for the windows. Blocking the nest boxes tonight - I have one molter left who is still sleeping in there & I'm over it. Cleaning the coop out this weekend so she needs to get back on the roosts, sick of a dirty nest (at least she sleeps in the one no one lays in).
Garden is put to bed till next spring. The yard is cleaned & everything is put away.
I noticed that too. I used to buy femur bones in packages of 3 for $10 just last year. I haven't seen them available all year. Not sure why because my store does their own butchering. So weird....
The sustained temps dropping below freezing every night for days have pretty much killed off everything in the garden including things that should have been frost hardy like broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce. Such a bummer because my cauliflower was coming along nicely. Normally it doesn't get and stay cold like this until January.
Ask the butcher TJ, our store normally sells them but people get them before they’re even on the shelf. We’ve resorted to going to an actual butcher shop to get them these days.I noticed that too. You’ve had an amazingly long time to grow them this year Sour, but I hope what you’ve harvested ripen so you get a few more BLTs!We had a solid freeze two days ago. I salvaged a dozen or so green tomatoes - if they ripen they will be the last of the season.![]()
