I’m looking forward to the grass finally growing on the yard since it is a mud pit right now after all the snow we got here…Which still wasn’t as much compared to how it used to be back in the day. Very odd weather going on all around lately.

Will the snow seems to have missed us. So much for expecting 3 inches...
I did get some gardening in today. Starting some more seeds was a family activity. We added all the following newly sown seeds to the diy grow tent: oregano, thyme, basil, parsley, dill, chives, swiss chard (a very colorful variety), baby choi, and Igloo and Four Seasons lettuce varieties. All the herbs are in 3.5" pots and the greens are in starter cells.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 51 and rain. I'm going to try to get out there and fill one of the tiered beds. I'll need it ready to get the greens transplanted by the end of the month like I'm planning.

Anybody plant potatoes early? I planted on late March one year and they got flooded in April showers just a week or two later that were the worst rain falls we've seen in our 6 years living here so they rotted. I was thinking about trying to get the potatoes in near the end of this month again, but is it too risky?

I finally found a source of indeterminate TYLCV resistant tomatoes...........Prior to this link I only found determinate types with this resistance.

I want to clone the suckers of these indeterminate TYLCV resistant plants and graft my heirlooms on them.

Lots of rain and temperatures in the 30’s
( yesterday highs were in the 60’s and Monday the high is predicted to be 71). Flash flood warnings until Monday.
Trip to Arizona has been postponed. My brother and his wife are both sick. I figure everybody will have a better time if they are feeling healthy. So now I plan to go in April.

Morning all. Darn snow covered everything DH cleared for me.

Started some more buttercrunch, that stuff is growing so well, its my new fave. My rosemary has been flowering (indoors) the entire winter. It looks so good it even has new growth.

We don’t temps any warmer than where you are anyway. It has been rainy, cool and windy!

Anybody plant potatoes early?

Last year I planted potatoes in mid-April through early May. That's the earliest I've ever planted them, and they did very well. I'm going to do that again, for sure. Well, depending on the weather.

My criterion for beginning planting was: Is the ground frozen? If I could dig in it, I figured I could put some potatoes in. If volunteers could grow, then I could plant.

@BReeder! people religiously (no pun intended) plant their potatoes here on Good Friday, not a day before.

I just looked at the weather app on my phone and it’s saying 15 inches of snow on Saturday. Lol! I’m sure that’s wrong. Please tell me that’s wrong. Lol! I just managed a trail in the chicken yard and coerced them out with green beans. Yikes!
