What did you do in the garden today?

Saturday we had high winds and rain. This huge branch broke off the tree and crashed down on the chicken barn coop.

We also lost power for 18 hours because this electric pole broke off and was hanging across the road a couple miles from us. The wind was crazy strong.

Today one of the grandsons, my hubby and I worked for many hours and finally got the branch off the coop. I climbed on top of the barn and cut the branches into manageable sections and passed them down to the boys. Then they worked on the main section of the branch.

We get micro burst here too. Had a pretty bad one a few weeks ago. I also had a neighbors tree lose a branch near our coop..went through the gate to..but I don'thave chickens anymore. I would have been so worried if so. These microbursts come all of a sudden. Chickens usually don't have time to hide or duck into a safe area. A big tree branch fell on a son's truck..big commercial diesel that he parks without the trailer by his house. Did some damage to that. Had some kids without power for a while. Mother nature has become more and more unpredictable.

Thank you! ♡ No icicles, yet. I like the idea, though! When I used to sell my work, I had a gal who had multiple Christmas trees. One was dedicated to my ornaments. I thought that was quite the honor. I created a special ornament just for her. She had a new grandson named Jack. So, as a gift, I made her a "Jack Frost" ornament ♡

Cut lettuce have a couple of nice red tomato from the garden.
Glad I was doing lettuce as some has started bolting cut all back.
try to keep lettuce going through the summer.

I gave up on my lettuce this year, I did not like the mix & it didn't grow well anyway. But I usually put shade cloth over it & cut it back & I can get a few extra weeks out of it. Good luck - it's awesome to have lettuce as long as possible!

Wow! I do love the snowflake too, but they are all very beautiful & so perfect looking that they almost don't look hand done. Very nice work!
