What did you do in the garden today?

When I’m done working around poison ivy I take a cold shower and use Dawn dish soap. The Dawn cuts the oils and the cold water shrinks your pores so the poison ivy oils can't soak into your skin as easily.
Thank you for sharing. I've never been affected, but DH has reactions that send him to the doctor

Thank you! Some one called this morning and our dogs were at their house ( 3/10 of a mile away). The dogs weren’t letting them leave the house. 😞 They even tried feeding them but the dogs were so scared that they barked ( and they have very ferocious sounding barks).
But all was good. The couple was very understanding and we got the dogs and brought them home. They were exhausted, very hungry and thirsty.
I understand. I have a reactive dog. Glad your neighbors were understanding ♡

Edit to add: so reading other replies - your dogs had been missing? I'm so happy they are home with you!!

Is this a gardenia? ::deep sniff::
Yes. I have two. They are hardy here.

From late May:

6 quarts of tomatoes in the canner. I'm thinking I may set up a table in the mudroom and pick any/all tomatoes that are starting to turn. I found evidence of a ground hog(?) munching on tomatoes again.

Rant: Hey, :ducI have enough to share, but could you eat 1 or 2 or 3, and eat the whole thing?!? This bite out 7 or 8 or 10 is PISSING ME OFF!

I've had birds do that. Peck holes when they start to ripen. :hitThey don't just have 1 or 2. They will move around to several!
Now I pick when I start to see them blush color and put them on the table. It's move or loose here!

Yesterday was the last of the heat wave here, so today I'll be planting my kale and B. sprout seedlings in the garden. They're going into a bed that gets direct sun until around 1PM, and is shaded by trees for the rest of the day. Perfect for brassicas.

So jealous of that forecast.
Still getting 90's. Mon and Tues says 97F. I have some brassicas started too. They are hiding out from the heat under lights in doors. Hopefully soon they can go outside!

I need to plant my fall crops: carrots, turnips, beets, chard. It's been too hot to do much.
