What did you do in the garden today?

One of my sun orange cherry tomato seeds sprouted today. The fruit size supposed to be bigger than sun gold and they claim it taste the same. I hope I can get some fruit to taste. Only tomato plants that are resistant to the TYLCV can grow in my yard, but as long as they set fruit before they get the stunting disease, I get to taste them.
I also planted some sun sugar cherry tomato, but it hasn't sprouted yet. Sun sugar has the TYLCV resistance, so I hope the seeds aren't duds.

We reclaimed some metal roofing off the old farmhouse. I cut some of the oddly shaped pieces in half, lengthwise. I'm using them as "sides" for some of my raised beds.

Right now, I'm only doing the south side. (The beds run east-west.) Last April we got a flooding rain, and it really eroded the south side of my raised beds. I figure it could happen again, and at least this way they might withstand the gully washing torrent that came down the hill.

I wish I'd done this before I planted the garlic and multiplier onions in two of the raised beds. I could have done a MUCH neater job if I didn't have to be so careful about how I dug near the sides of the beds. Therefore, no pictures. :)

Maybe after I harvest the garlic and onions, I can redo it a bit to make it straighter.

:lau Yeah, right.

I would think if nuts were bad they would taste rancid. But I really have no clue.

Beautiful out there today. Frost for last night is now supposed to be tonight. I brought in a couple plants & covered the greenstalk. Picked all the sungolds that had at least a little blush on them.

Gave the girls a pumpkin.

Such purty chickens... What breed is the red one on the right?

They are FINALLY forecasting some rain at the end of the week. So now I'm trying desperately to find places to plant the 20 - 30 remaining iris rhizomes I have. I've already given away at least 50 of them. Planted at least that many already.... Anyway, I'm running out of runway to get them transplanted and established before the weather drops.

I picked every tomato off the vines that was of any size, green, pink and red. Chopped and pulled all the plants up and tossed them into the woods. I ended up with probably a peck of tomatoes, mostly green and small. Cooking some green tomatoes in the skillet right now.

I also picked the three green peppers off the pepper plants, plucked the plants from the ground and tossed those into the woods too.
