The issue with rusty galvanized waterers is the zinc in the galvanize. Rust isn't toxic but too much zinc is.
The test on the vape pens weren't real world... they kept them running after they ran out of liquid....dry burn it's called. Unless you were drunk, you would immediately notice and stop to refill. Not saying vaping is harmless, if you don't smoke you shouldn't vape. I will say vaping helped me finally quit smoking and I had tried gum, patches and pills... I did find quitting vaping was easier.

I'm sure they are at least not as cold as they would be without all of your help and hard work to do what you can for them.It is so freaking cold outside... I can only imagine how miserable my poor animals are.Even with all the winter prep, I'm sure it's still uncomfortably cold for them. I'll be so happy when this crap passes...
I can't even imagine how scary that would be. I hope you don't have to go back out for anything else until the weather is better.Still haven't crept above 0F. Down to -15 tonight. I have a couple with frostbite. Not a dang thing I can do for them. It happens every year.
I'm over it.

A woman sliding quickly downhill through a red light backwards.
And a fedex truck take a turn too fast and go sideways into our side of the road. Luckily we had all moved out of his way.
No school in the city tomorrow.
Country schools are on a delay, but usually no bus service. So IMHO, no school for them either.
I'm about getting squirrely.
(trip to town today was to the pet crematorium and to drop off my truck at the shop AGAIN for electrical issues, and shots and market. I couldn't wait to get home. The grocery store heater couldn't keep up and it was like shopping in a refrigerator. I don't think it was even 50' in there.
