Thank you! That's beautiful. If it's not too much trouble could you send me a couple of seeds. I would love to see that in my house.
I have never had this plant make seed.

I'm thinking about planting my green peas. I usually plant them in Feb.I think I can plant snow peas now...not tomorrow, but possibly this weekend?
I will have to catch up later, been a busy week. Surgery
DH got a bunch of packets of ridiculously hot pepper seeds for his birthday - I hadn't planned on starting any seeds this year, but I will now. Those will all go in their own greenstalk. I have 4 greenstalks now, one for peppers, one for strawberries, one for onions & I think I will get another one for misc stuff, I want to try edamame & celery for the first time & maybe some flowers for the pollinators. I'm also going to attempt to make my own potting soil for them with my compost.
Garden plans are coming together - just need some real cold to kill of the bad bugs & some snow for nitrogen & I'd be in good shape! I think the wildflowers are still alive - wasn't expecting to have to clean them out, thought we'd have a winter.![]()
I haven't been getting notifications on this thread, and I'm very far behind. Happy to hear you are getting some relief, Sue!I will have to catch up later, been a busy week. Surgery went well, the permanent implant is a go on 3/1. It was fantastic to have a couple almost pain free days & I look very forward to being able to garden again this year!
My DH plants "ridiculously hot" peppers, every year, too! And then I make him some pepper jelly to share with friends. I detest peppers, of all kinds. I must love him.DH got a bunch of packets of ridiculously hot pepper seeds for his birthday - I hadn't planned on starting any seeds this year, but I will now. He's beautiful! I hope you're feeling better by now. I get my grandson, every other weekend. Last weekend was my shift - so now I have a cold. Now we have Covid.I’m pretty sure the 5 month old brought it home from daycare
. I tried to convince my daughter not to send him until he is over a year old. But she and her husband get to make the decisions. He only goes 2 days a week.
He tested positive a week ago today. My daughter tested positive yesterday and I tested positive today. I’m pretty sure her mother-in-law has it too. She just hasn’t tested. But when you watch a baby that young that drools and coughs/sneezes, I don’t think it matters how often you wash your hands.
The good news is that the baby seems to be pretty much over it. And I’m sure the rest of us will get better too. View attachment 3740031
He doesn’t look sick.
I hope you all are doing well.
Would love to know how it goes for youI picked all the stuff I need to make my own potting soil for the 3 other greenstalks. Perlite, vermeculite, bone & blood meal, lime, coco coir & worm castings. Plus my compost. Hope it comes out good, first time I've made my own stuff.
I'm with you ,on the beets. They just taste like dirt. But it is good to eat a variety of veggies. This year I ordered kale seeds. I'll make kale chips and freeze dry the rest, powder it, and add it to things, for its nutrients. I have 2 trays of broccoli microgreens in the freezer, waiting for their turn in the freeze dryer. I'll powder those, as well. It's my first go-round with microgreens. Satisfying, watching them growBefore going to the work of growing them, I bought some at the store. I can spend $2.49 on something and try cooking it a couple different ways. The yellow beets taste less "like dirt" than the red ones do, according to my memory. My "hmm, this tastes like XYZ" meter said that yellow beets tasted similar to the last bit of a kernel of corn that's stuck in the cob. An earthy taste to be sure, but it reminded me of summer corn on the cob dinners when I was a kid. I roasted them in the oven, and the sugars carmelized a bit, which to me is always a good taste.
I've added 3 new "I like those" vegetables in the past few months. Chard, collards, and beets and beet greens. So is that 4?
My golden beet and some collard seeds came in the mail. I'll be planting 2 kinds of collards this year.
I've always been partial to female dogs. Maybe because most of my parent's dogs were female also. After my husband got our last dog, a full Rat Terrier, I was reminded again of why I don't like male dogs: for some reason they think they have to mark everything! He's two now. Molly is 6.@CedarLane she reminds me of the first black Chihuahua my husband had. He said he got her for me but the problem with that is it proves how much he doesn't know about me. I don't like Chihuahua's or female dogs. I'm seriously not crazy about them. I have a female pitbull and wish someone would take her.
