Oh, the cruelty of your verbal barbs!!! We're supposed to get down to -5 tonight. Yes, that's MINUS 5 F. This winter has been BRUTAL. But, I'm anticipating an early spring. In spite of the cold, I'm planning to go out and plant some lettuce and perhaps some spinach in the very well ventilated green house. (the plastic is breaking down, and the cats have added further ventilation.) More sun is a good thing... and IMO, if you don't loose a few crops b/c you planted them too early, you're not planting early enough! Besides, that's what they make plastic and mulch for. If your garden is mulched, you can just pull the mulch up over the first plantings when frost threaten, and pull it back when it warms up again.
