What did you do in the garden today?

I love that tote @WthrLady. I feel your pain. I spend my life - spring, summer, winter & fall - hunting mice, repairing mice damage & fixing everything so mice can't get in. The nasty, disease carrying little rodents destroy everything. When I catch them I put them on top of the wood chip pile out back to feed the fox, bobcats, raccoon, possum hawks - anything that will eat them. We call it 'the alter' now. The fox stops by to check it every night. :lau Those little f*****s chewed a hole in the dang gas tank on my car! But the neighbors still insist on feeding the birds (aka mice/bears) all year long. They literally drive me bonkers. (the mice AND the neighbors, lol).

Laughing bc I totally understand!

MICE I LOATHE MICE!
I went down to my studio to sew a simply adorable line lunch tote for the little girl I pick up at the bus stop.
While I was sewing, I had the radio on, but I thought I heard a squeak. Then I heard another. Then I heard I pair. They had NO problem with me being down there, so I snuck up on them.
They were in one of those rolling sewing machine cases. This one I use for an old coin collection, and I haven't opened it in probably 20 years ( 11 years here) But to my credit, I thought it was zipped shut. Nope, it has flaps and clips, easy access for a mouse through the handle portion.
Now, had I not been in a fit of blind rage, my sane mouse trapping skills would have had me put a large plastic bag over it while at the same time tipping it upside down and sealing the bag shut while I got it outside. This would have disorientated the beasts and trapped them.
But no, I shook the darn thing. One mouse stuck his head out, then another, and then they bolted.
DANG IT. OC I chose to tear my whole studio apart, in lieu of burning the house down. I checked all the fabric (wash what needed to be), get everything away from the walls, clean, toss out any trash, make a donate pile, all of which is now on the back porch outside. The clean fabric and anything in totes (wiped with wipes)was stacked on my giant cutting table, which has never shown any exposure to a mouse.
Even the shelving is now outside.
I have two traps down.
After I do the livestock I'll grab MANY more.
I'm also going to put down a little paper plate with 5 sunflower seeds on it. As long as any of those vanish, I know I stiff have a beast to deal with.

I ordered some clear totes from home depot and dh will pick them up on the way home. Just ARGH.
I swear, the whole day gone. But I did finish the tote first.View attachment 3767088
