What did you do in the garden today?

Howling prairie winds today over 40, fire warnings, and we hit 78'F.
Nothing in the garden today except taking tomato start orders while on errand for the day. Tree pollen is off the charts and allergies are taking a toll. I'd love to have the house open, but not with the air you can wear out there. Sticky itchy pollen.
I do need to water the dork-a-dils and fill the birdbath before dark.

Planted some freesia and ranunculus bulbs tonight. Picked more asparagus. I also noticed that my strawberries are all flowering.

Question: Anyone use a grow tent to start your transplants? Is it worth the money?

I don't think it's worth the money. A dome seed starter with a heat mat is better in my opinion.

Had an extra hour of afternoon light, so once I got home from work I attached string to the trellis to help the sugar snap peas find it.

@MotherofOrpies I talked to the guy who sold me berries. he says if a tree dies within a day it usually is fungus, sometimes beetles (from genus agriotes). we should not plant another tree before treating the soil.

But how ?! I didn’t see any beetles when I cut down the tree and how do you treat the soil against fungus i just read a little bit about it, we have a very sandy soil, so that isn’t the problem, in the summer it gets very hot ( I read high temperatures kills fungi) apple cider vinegar and baking soda can help, but not in bad cases and I really don’t want to use chemicals, then I can just buy cherries

Since I have to pick my tomatoes half ripe in the tropics, it gets overwhelming when they turn ripe together. I want to try preserving some with these video recipes, I wonder if they will go good with hamburgers and sandwiches like pickles do.
