What did you do in the garden today?

Today, I was looking at my Genovese Basil sprouts and in a small pot next to it there were some tomato sprouts, but I thought they were volunteers, so I pulled them out and right after I threw them on the ground, I remembered that I planted some Princess Yum Yum F2 or third generation seeds from a plant that had round and tear shaped fruit with a softer skin than the original Princess Yum Yum Hybrid. The fruit starts off orange and then turns red, so I think it has been pollinated by a Sun Gold plant.

Next time, I will label them. I didn't think I would forget.......................

I did the same thing with some daisies forgot I threw the seed heads in a flower pot...remembered later in the day putting away tools, long after I pulled out "something growing" & planted Marigolds in the pots by the coop...just popped into my brain & bummed me out a bit.

Good morning gardeners. I planted more kale seeds, picked a few more asparagus spears then worked on the hill garden. I’ve managed to rip up the wild grass clumps and briars from half the space I need for planting green beans. Time for breakfast now. I may pick up a few more chicks today.

Wow your Milkweed is way ahead of mine, it's just leaves right now, plants only 8 inches tall.

Aww, Bless our Moms & hugs to them in Heaven. My Mom's African Violet plant blooms in my kitchen constantly, and it's a plant from early 1970s...amazing isn't it?

Yesterday here was cold, windy & rainy. Went from a/c back to heat. I was forcing myself to rest on ice packs because the sacroiliac shots won't work if I jump back right into my normal activities. The sun is shining this morning. I must get eggs to market & tend to flock but will also do a walk about & check over the garden areas once it dries up more out there. I can already see the weeds out front that I didn't get to yet are thriving. Well, it's not like they're goin anywhere they'll be there when I get to them. And that'll be a project...They're growing in rocks & gravel. I did pick off all the seed heads at least. I just can't do digging right now. The shots have made a difference in the lower back but the right hip is still hurting so I will probably need more shots there.

I do need to get some more seeds planted! Direct sow outside, the corn seeds. The farmers are just doing theirs so I'm still ok timewise, I guess, but I feel very late. Where does time go?

We did not get Aurora Borealis appearing here, too cloudy & rainy, but I think it's really cool. I heard Aquarid meteor shower may be visible, too.

I may have started getting lost on their website because they have a bunch of cool things! I am pretty sure Garden Supplies Math is a real thing! "I need BT spray, that's it.... Oh, LOOK! Beneficial insects! And season extenders! And......."

I wanna know when the fire ant eating phorid flies will be available...I will buy them!

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to see the Aurora. Last night, I got to see them! They were faint, and we had clouds and rain when they were supposed to be at peak, but I was so happy I finally got to see them that I may have shed a few tears of happiness!

About the BT spray. The reason I asked is that I found a good price for a bulk amount on the Monterrey website, but when I was about to check out, I started to feel less than sure about the website. Having been scammed by a website seeming legit before, I decided to ask people I trust (aka you guys) where you buy it!

When I need BT I get it at the big box stores.

DD took this picture in Arkansas last night. Visible to the naked eye... In town, no less.

We couldn't see anything in northern Indiana (where I'm still at currently) because of heavy cloud cover. However the strongest storms are still yet to come... 4 more x-class storms should hit this weekend so still more opportunities to see it.
