What did you do in the garden today?

After supper i went out and picked up the tools. Every day, all day, this dog wants to play fetch the stick . But she really doesn't want you to take it from her. After a while, she gives in and sort of throws it at you , near your feet or on one of my freshly painted boards. Every day i throw it until she is panting. When husband is home he takes her for long walks and plays with her, so i don't have to do it by myself. After two weeks of it, i am getting tired of it. I was in the garden trying to plant the watermelon plants. I got two in and she comes over and throws a big stick right on top of one of the plants! :he:mad: Really? I about lost it. I closed the garden gate with her outside and picked beans. I will be really happy when husband gets back. I think she may be in the dog yard tomorrow.
That describes our dog Ellie to a T. Puts the toy down then as you try to pick it up she jumps on it. Ignore her and she'll leave the toy jump down and bark at us until we throw it. This continues all night or until we make the toy disappear.

hello fellow gardeners. I have a plant that I "think" is german chamomile. I have compared it to this site: http://www.ediblewildfood.com/chamomile.aspx and the only thing that makes me think "no" is its smell. Does anyone have the wild annual german chamomile growing on their property? I'd like to compare notes, I will also add pictures if someone thinks they can help. thanks

I don't think I have chamomile German or regular.

Planted corn earlier this morning not sure it will produce before fall freeze which sometimes starts late October but giving it a try. It's a blue corn
Sunflowers are up about a foot and a half.
That's about where my sunflowers are. The garden is taking a back seat to building right now or i would have more done.

Naw, my dog does that all the time. Big dog's favorite toy is a tennis ball. She will growl at you, jerk her head away, run off, do anything to keep you from taking it from her. But she brings it back every time and looks at me with a wagging tail as if I can teleport it out of her mouth and fling it across the lawn with a wand. :p
Still no words from Jen? She's doin' me a concern. She seemed so regular. Maybe she took a break. I have been known to disappear for weeks on end. Only time will tell.
Tomorrow it's potato boxes all day long. Unless I take a break to water or plant radishes. Last rainfall was on the 22nd. The cucumbers are exceptionally sad and only my watering allows them to live. Normally I plant them in the shade so they don't overheat but I thought they might be melons or squash. I wonder if I can make them some artificial shade just for them to try to keep them alive.
Goodnight thread.
