What did you do in the garden today?

A few days ago in this post I mentioned that I thought I might have a dwarf Roma tomato plant that came from what should've been standard Roma seeds.

I decided to root a cutting from the plant and grow it in a 5 gallon bucket to find out if its size will be the same as the parent plant.

Maybe the reason for the tomato plant in the garden being small has something to do with the soil, or something has affected the roots. Growing a cutting should rule those reasons out and help verify that it does indeed have the dwarf mutation.

I'm rooting the cutting in a small container and will move it to the bucket when its ready.

When I was working I got new boots every 6 months. I walked 5 to 15 miles a day. They gave us one pair a year. People couldn't figure out why I changed them when they looked fine. I couldn't figure out why they didn't try new shoes when they were in pain.
After I retired, I realize that I had 3 painful corns growing under my left and right foot caused by years of wearing steel toe shoes. I tried Dr. Scholls brand from my local drug store, but it didn't work. However, the Utensy corn remover I got from amazon killed the root. The clear waterproof soft sticky plastic that came with the corn band aids kept the salicylic acid active and in place and is probably the reason why it worked.

For real. My volunteer tomatillos are taking over everything, the ones I planted on purpose are doing okay, but they are less than half the size of the volunteers.

Speaking of tomatillos. Canned 6 pints! Wound up doing water bath.

You sure have been busy!

I did it in olive oil one year. It was good, but I just froze it all in a container, I should have done it in an ice cube tray! It was impossible to break off pieces like I thought. But yes, it was good stuff!
I just broke apart bulbs after I use part and throw cloves in freezer with skin on. When needed I just take them out peel and crush or mince and use like fresh.

I have so much to do and no little kids anymore but my husband and I still have our youngest daughter living here and when she comes back it'll be total chaos for me bc she doesn't clean. I keep telling myself I need to clean the table and then I get started on the laundry, dishes, garden, chickens, dogs or any of 100 more things and it's just crazy. It probably won't take more than 10 minutes to clean it but it's just not a priority to me. I greatly appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. Thank you
Same here we've had so many Dr. visits all 1-2 hours away nothing serious just worn out old people stuff, hubby has cataracts, Botox for headaches . I have carpal tunnel x2. Then if it's nice we work on flip house and garden and chickens. I usually love to cook but with hens heat garden chores, flip house I just want to give DH a bowl of cereal for dinner! My house is a MESS just like treading water instead of swimming. I fall into bed and some days we just don't go anywhere and just veg with TV or phones. I even missed the county fair and it's right down the street! I'll be glad when this summer is over with. I keep reminding.dimh myself every year I learn more but I don't feel like I gained anything this year. !! :he But wait till next winter when those catalogs come in mail and I'll do it all over again! :thumbsup:wee

I've never had corns. I wonder if my home made wart cure would work on them? 🤔
