I remember doing the knife/screwdriver in the slot trick to keep the washer going with the top open. There are too many safety features these days that are preventing Darwinism from doing its job.On the topic of appliances, I want a top load washer that I can put a butter knife in the hole to make it start agitating so that I can add bleach to the water and hold a stained piece of clothing above and just allow the agitator to gently pull it in and not dye it. I'm really picky about the mayo because I have heard a lot of talk about how canola and soybean oils are not actually oils, but they are chemicals just put together to get people to buy them. I then wonder why the FDA allows companies to do that and I only have one conclusion, the companies that are insisting that their products are good for us are paying the government off.
Haven't been to the garden yet. For the question about mayo or MW, if it isn't labeled Best Food's or Hellman's, it's not allowed in my house. The youngest daughter bought a gallon of WinCo brand mayo and I told my husband that I needed mayo for the macaroni salad and someone said there's mayonnaise in the refrigerator, I stopped and said the hell if there is, I wouldn't use that generic ass crap. That is the last time anyone ever decided to buy anything other than Best Food's.
My two cents is real mayo I grew up with it.
Never had miracle whip.
And my front load you could pause at any time in the cycle and add things- it would pause and unlock the door.
That sounds like I need to start making some mayo for myself and watch while the family devours it and then decide that bc it wasn't store bought they don't like itI understand you about mayo. I prefer to make it myself with my fresh eggs and extra virgin olive oil. 1 egg + 1 yolk, about 1 cup of olive oil, little salt, 1 tbs lemon juice or 1 tsp vinegar and about 1 tsp mustard. it is good for salads. if it is for sandwiches I prefer to put half olive oil and half sunflower oil. it can be refrigerated for a few days only.
