Call and raise hell.... They likely used a contractor. They will come fix it. When I worked in that business 20 years ago, we even resodded someone's entire yard if it was slightly damaged by contractors. This utility company is beyond stupid.
They re-dug the hole they filled in last week. The one I spent two hours cleaning up and regrading.
Today they tore up a 15 feet wide, and 30 foot long strip of ground PLUS the 5x5x5 foot deep hole. Their equipment completely tore off all the grass down to the dirt. It's all gone. They left ruts and rocks and left it a hell of a mess. Literally tossed two handfulls of seed on it and left.
OMG I am livid.
FIRST of all, why they couldn't put it 12 feet north, where there is nothing but weeds along the road for 1.5 miles is BEYOND me.
No, they had to put it straddling BOTH livestock access drives. MASSIVE loads of machinery and cattle come and go through here on a steep hill. We rely on solid clear ground to get in and out of there safely.
Now there is deep loose soil, high erosion potential (very top of the hill), and loose stone that is ankle snaps in the high grass waiting to happen or like driving on 3 inch marbles, not to mention the lump of a box on the side of two drives.
Is it too much to ask for people to have brains?!

I spent 3 hours fixing it so we have a chance of using it without hurting us or damaging equipment. AND I put down 5 pounds of seed. We're in drought with no hope for rain, so I'll drag a hose and sprinkler up there to try to stabilize the soil. Yes, it's the right of way, but WE are required to maintain it even if the county/utility trash it .
I am pissed at the whole thing, but nothing I can do about it.
Their argument is it is the county right of way. Which doesn't mean they can trash it, but omg you should see the ruts in my once NICE ROW. Now I'm not even sure it's safe to ride my mower on without hitting a rut and tipping.Call and raise hell.... They likely used a contractor. They will come fix it. @WthrLady Yeah I'm going to agree here. Tell them the location, pole number and if you get a "sorry we can't do anything" tell them you want to escalate your case with a manager. I wouldn't take "No" for an answer. *shakes fist*Call and raise hell.... They likely used a contractor. They will come fix it. County right of way; is that like an easement? Still your property? Right of way doesn't mean "right to abuse/neglect"Their argument is it is the county right of way. I rinsed off a qt mason jar of salt fermented green tomato slices mixed with chopped kale, garlic, onions, and chili peppers, and cooked it together with a blanched pig feet to make a soup. I threw in some bay leaves and didn't add any salt. I think the fermented mix will be enough to flavor the soup. I was thinking about what I was going to do with all of the fermented stuff in my refrigerator and came up with this idea. It should taste similar to my local style pig feet soup.
