For some reason I can't upload any pics right now, but I just did a google search on "Property Protected By" signs and found some funny ones!

My MIL grew up in her younger years in Ohio, and she told me about Paw Paw trees. Very cool that you have some. I checked out a book from the library on them, and they even talked about finding one at Monticello and the conservators didnt even know that it was a paw paw tree.!

Husband had to look it up. I had no idea what it was.

My yard long beans are finally blooming. Those blossoms are massive. Any readers have experience growing them???? Opinions re: quality and flavor of beans?

We had them once and they grew up over the fence and into the apple tree. Flavor was good.

Today I did the usual harvesting of cukes, cantaloupe. Crated up 5 pullets and delivered to their swanky new digs for $$. No painting because the humidity wouldn't let the paint stick, much less dry. Readied an area by our driveway to receive sod.

They were more like foot long.
Paint and caulk taking forever to dry here as well. Buying more stuff tomorrow, since i am already going to Altavista for a duplicate truck key. Hope to get some cheap paint. Husband ordered galvanized trash can to put my feed in, and the storage buildings will help clear out the hallway where i have been keeping the stuff.

Oh, and i bought seed for sweet corn next year. Half price, and i will keep it in the house so it should be fine. All they had was hybrid varieties. Southern States farm store was selling copper grounding posts for $27.99! I got two for under $13 each at Home Depot! Some places are just greedy.

So the war on varmints continues. Just went out and peed on the ground near my garden. They are officially on notice. Get lost!

HE pees all over our yard. Maybe why I never see signs of coon, armadillo, opposum or anything else. Even the bobcats have stayed down a few houses. I might Try it once in a while, but the bugs already eat me up. Not giving them a chance at the tender bits!

We harvested pears today from a tree in the chicken yard and had 20 curious chickens underfoot. I dropped a pear and it was like a school of piranhas on a helpless animal...that pear didn't last a minute. That was my laugh of the day!
