What did you do in the garden today?

We got rain! Only an inch but I'll take... A chance for more this weekend.

I ended up with this small scooter after amazon canceled my order. A local shop delivered it assembled today. I am going on a mini adventure tomorrow. I have to take my car to a local automotive shop to change my fuel pump and some other stuff which should take all day. I specifically bought this electric scooter so I could ride it home and back. My auto repair is scheduled for Nov 11, so I want to make a test run to see if the battery charge will last the distance. Its legal to ride without a helmet in my state.

Nothing in the garden. I located 4 woolly bears while moving old straw bales and relocated them to the herb bed, where they can find a warm place for winter topor.
The old bales are in the orchard prairie area, waiting for me to spread them out and allow them to hold any winter moisture to soften the clay and bring up the worms for spring spreading of wild flower seeds.
The hens are still molting, so only the pullets are laying.
The alpacas are into their fall breeding season Frenzie. BUT since we only have boys, they fight. This year is especially rough. They're really picking on one alpaca. They don't have their fighting teeth so the boy bits' are safe. But the chasing and wrestling and the piling ones are brutal and loud. I feel for the lowest on the totem pole.

I fell behind again. It's been super busy here. Getting ready for our first off roading camping trip this weekend. We had our first frost last night! We get our first rain sprinkle (less than a tenth of an inch) this weekend while we're gone.

I have a flock of slackers. I'm only getting one or two eggs a day. One of my girls I raised up this year is molting. Go figure!

Most of the seeds DS and I started are sprouted. It's going to be nice to have a full winter garden this year.

Caught another gopher yesterday!

my hens lay but 5 puppies and 2 pot bellied pigs find the eggs before I do.

I picked up 3 chicken eggs and 1 duck egg out of 60+ hens and 10 duck hens. Granted, I have a lot going through molt, days getting colder/shorter, and I don't use artificial light but still... If there's a hidden nest(s) somewhere I have yet to find it....
I am up to 8 eggs since Oct 22... feathers everywhere and the dark Cornish don't lay now anyway. Around 40 hens and 4 pullets that are too young.

Super chicken never came back, but his brother is very persistent. I must have chased this wild chicken on the fence more than 7 times with a piece of 2x4 wood. I usually just throw the wood near him to scare him off, but I think I will start aiming for him next time. The other day I saw super chicken beat this guy up until he laid exhausted on the ground. I am nursing a Cornish x/Breese hen with a sore leg in this pen. I separated her from my fat rooster to let her heal up and grow back some feathers.
