What did you do in the garden today?

That would make garden life soo much easier than lugging everything around the garden. I could even use it to go get soil from the nursery just up the road from me.

Our 4-wheeler was stolen back in September. We discussed replacing it with a side-by-side but those are $25k - $32k. Our son argued HARD for us to get a Kei truck. They are made for farm work and cost less than $10k. Ours has 53,000 miles on it and only cost $6500. If you get one that ISN'T a dump, they are less than $5000. I really wanted the dump option though... The sides also flip down to make it a flatbed, if I want as well.

That's awesome. I would love to get one someday but right now it's really not a good time for adding anymore expenses to the budget.

We have a old Sears yard king biggest they made.
He bought a dump trailer to go behind it.
Does great for us.

Yes, they are here but that depends on your state. Top speed on mine is 85 mph but it probably wouldn't be safe over 70 mph. Perfectly fine to use as a farm truck or local runs to the feed store or landscaping shop.

The dealer I bought mine from was an hour away. He imports them from Japan... But he also sells them to other dealers all over the country and ships them so I'm certain you could have one shipped.

I'm sure shipping isn't cheap
I just spent 4k on my truck this year: tires, gas lines wheel bearings, tune up battery ECT
No more toys for a while

I just planted 2 Red Snapper tomato plants from Hoss Tools and sprayed them with captain Jack's Neem Oil. I also cut the main stem off my long squash and dropped the nylon netting to let the sun in. The plant leaves were drooping this afternoon, so I covered them with an insect net, and they perked up. This is the first time covering my tomato plants with this insect net so early. I think it will keep the white flies of them, but I need to set up some borax ant baits and maybe some commercial ant baits to keep them from mining aphids. Hopefully everything works out and I don't have to spray them.

What minimum temperature do you think strawberries can tolerate in a Greenstalk?

I'm really not sure, this is all an experiment for me since it's my first winter with strawberries in the GS instead of in ground. I would think they'd be ok in low 20s but anything lower & I'd cover them. I mean mine were still growing & producing berries when nights were in the 20s! They are pretty hearty.

I didn't know that! I'm glad I got my seed starter tray before they closed. I wonder if pods will still be readily available. I would think so with so many after market companies & hydroponic systems out there. Or maybe I should stock up?

The main problem with aftermarket is that they might just be millimeters off from the original. I have a french fry slicer I got a couple decades ago. The company no longer makes replacement parts so I went for one that claimed to fit.

Yes, it was 3 1/4 inches--outside diameter. The original was 3 1/4 inside diameter. You wouldn't think 2 millimeters would make much difference, but it really does.

I used it last year, but I put it on after my tomato plants were at least 2 feet tall. I think they were determinate Hossinator tomato plants. I got a lot of good-looking unblemished tomatoes from that harvest. I think I sprayed neem oil a few times, for just in case measures. I remember concluding that the Tycoon tomato was better for me because it didn't get as tall as the Hossinator and Red snapper. The Hossinator tomato plants were pushing against the top of the netting last year.

I don’t know about Aerogarden specifically but I got a Click and Grow for Christmas a few years ago and just skipped replacement pods in favor of dirt and seeds out of a packet.

That said, maybe keep an eye out for going-out-of-business sales on the pods if you’re worried?
