I've tried bulk dandelion seeds and seeds from Baker. Neither were a success... That's why I opted to collect FREE dandelion seeds from my in-laws property when we visit. They have acres of them...You know, Baker Creek sells dandelion seeds. Maybe a cultivated variety would do better.

ROFL. I suppose I should have clarified. They loved my sandy, rocky, dry, alkaline soil. At that point I had no clay.Dandelion does not thrive in sandy soil![]()
I've read that they can grow well in poor soil and even act somewhat as a soil fixer. However I don't think they do well here because of the hot summers. The places where they seem to grow the best - either through native dandelions or seeds I've sowed - is in areas that get shade in the afternoon and hottest part of the day.
