What did you do in the garden today?

Out of all the videos on sweet potatoes that I have watched, this lady impressed me the most. She grows her sweet potato in an 8-inch-high x 30 inches wide grow bed and the bottom of the bed is covered with weed fabric. She has other videos on how she makes her fluffy soil which is the key to her success.

Thanks for sharing this great video! The young leaves are great in salads as well.

It's suppsed to get down to 7 F tonight in the nearest town, so if the pattern continues it will be around -3 here. I seem to run 10 degrees cooler. I have the water running and a heater in front of the furnace so it doesn't have to work as hard to maintain the house temperature.

I brought in the starts from the greenhouse.

Poor chickees. They did fine the last time, but man it's cold out there!

Even worse up here.

Decided to clean out a seed drawer in the office today. Found a bunch of seeds I forgot I even had... Oats, spring wheat, pearl millet, daikon radish.... Wondering how I can sow them in the pasture without the birds or chickens eating it. Probably not.

I also found a bunch of wisteria, pink mimosa, and luffa seeds. I was going to mail them to someone and forgot who! Apologies!

I walked out to my enclosed pepper garden thinking they had all died from the recent freeze only to see new green growth so I decided to water them. Lol

Yesterday I re potted some succulents and one of my dragon fruit cactus.

The "5-8" of snow" turned into about 2-3" here. We have been on the short end of the stick ALL SEASON LONG!!! I don't think we've had 20-24" total, and our average is 48+. I know there's still more winter ahead, but sheesh.

Some would say that's a good thing, but I'm getting concerned with the lack of moisture for the ground and the lack of the insulating blanket for roots. We had the minus single digits with very little snow, so any damage is probably done. :(
