I made a dumb mistake today... I was sowing a bunch of seed packets in various beds and just sort of in my own little world. After I was finished, I belated realized I had sown some Hollyhock seeds in the raised memorial bed where the dahlias and gladiolus didn't really grow back. This bed is already 30" off the ground.![]()

OK. I see the problem now. I still could not tell you what a Hollyhock, dahlias, or gladiolus are, but at least I can understand too tall!
Some of my best discoveries are things I had not planned. Maybe it will turn out better than expected.
I, on the other hand, have had a life full of experiments. I just started gardening more seriously a few years ago, so I am still learning new stuff every year in that area.
Sometimes I try something new, fully expecting it to work, and it might fail miserably. Dear Wife might question me about it, and I just calmly reply, "It was just an experiment." I don't think she believes me...
