What did you do in the garden today?

Wow how are the rest holding up. That's awful.

somehow I think the little ones just did not thrive.. I do not put heat on three to five days old they may have squished each other.. the polish I bought yesterday there was not lamps on them it was a little feed company on highway 12 around Charlies corner which
isn't the proper name the guy I buy chicken feed from is selling his farm to developers and I may be looking for another food company if i do not want dumoor or purina foods

All I did was sweep the patio and feed/water the chickens outside today. Dinner is ready for the next 3 nights plus a few nights worth added to the freezer, the laundry is done and the house is reasonably clean. I think I've run the dishwasher at least three times in 2 days.
We've planned a poop board addition to the coop and we are ready to replace a door on the shed and get that cleaned out. I will finally have a place for garden and coop stuff. Starting the next bulk trash pile.

Turned contents of one composter. Harvested the corn, kale and peppers that I was feeling very guilty about. Lost a hill of crook neck squash, probably to cut worms. My late pumpkin planting finally is showing fruit. May be in time for Thanksgiving, if not then Christmas. Our local "Self Assigned" opinionated garden expert says I planted a block of corn too far apart. I responded, that he was wrong, it is simply a USC corn maze.

Anything left in my garden by December will be frozen or chicken food or both. Pumpkin plant was picked last week due to aphids. There's more out back but will need to pick them soon due to squirrels that I've been doing battle with.

Awe I hope she makes it. I have a Dark Cornish that's been acting slow past few days.
At first I read that as you baked your brains. :lau

Harvested plantain yesterday, went scouting for Jewel weed today. Found some, but it's almost gone by. Prepared both of those, they are currently drying overnight, and will be worked into olive oil and coconut oil infusions tomorrow for my Jewel/plantain/sage salve. I'll do a gentle simmer in canning jars placed in crock pot full of water. Hope to find more Jewel weed at my MIL house tomorrow.

Pretty sure we don't have the jewel weed here.
