What did you do in the garden today?

Thank you all for sending the rain to me. I was trying to get the hardware cloth on the redesigned run for the girls and it started raining. SWEET.

Cheeks is trying to fly out of the tote but I don't want her getting attacked by the other chickens and I definitely don't want the flies to get her. I'm going to get back to wrapping the hardware cloth and then get all the girls locked up.

My squash were looking good this morning. I have a blossom on one of the acorn squash plants, a second yellow squash starting and male squash blossoms open. I picked more than one handful of revived green beans and a couple of handfuls of black turtle beans. Also picked one chocolate cherry tomato. After breakfast I picked up fallen apple and about 2 dozen peaches. One dozen looks really good and bug free. I took all the early dropped apples and salvaged as much as I could and turned them into chunky applesauce. I had to add lemon juice, salt and a little sugar because they really weren’t all that ripe. But not a total loss. I need to work on the peaches tomorrow. Fortunately they aren’t all ripening at the same time so I can take breaks between batches.

Thank you. I'm still trying to figure out how to tell the difference between a hen and a rooster but as of now it's not working.
