What did you do in the garden today?

That's what we do around here, and how early the acorns fall
Acorns here. If the trees are loaded, expect a wet winter. So far it's been foolproof. The trees are loaded this year. Another good test year.

Speaking of rain, we have rain in the forecast. Good thing I got that skylight done when I did!

Picked strawberries and tomatoes yesterday. I'm glad I got an ever bearing strawberry variety, it's been really good for DS to hunt for strawberries in the garden.

It's going to get kind of hot today, around 90 degrees, so I need to go out and water some things.

I picked a few cucumbers and beans early this morning and just finished processing a quart each of dill-black pepper cucumber chunks, cucumber spears and green beans.

My five pullets gave me four eggs yesterday.

Got a grandma and aunts, and a few uncles that did the whole canning run I just need the pressure canner and the know how.

The hormones in my 3 young roosters have peaked and they are now tag teaming all the mean hens 3 on one. I will lock the hens in tonight without the roosters to keep them from dying. I will keep the molting hens locked up until they start laying again and then I will let my white and brown colored Isa Brown rooster fertilize the eggs. Hopefully I can get some egg laying chicks from these old Breese/Cornish x hens.
I went to lock my hen coop up and saw two young roosters perch up with them. The third youngest one is still sleeping outside in another open coop. I must separate them tonight or something bad will happen. The young roosters are sex crazy.......... :wee
