Still no frost here, it's been very mild so far. Rain forecast this weekend, if it stops long enough I will tidy the border at the front and take the rest of the frost tender plants into the greenhouse.

Everytime I do melons or from the melon family, pickles, cukes, and zucchini I get a good crop for awhile then a powdery fungus takes over and kills them. Can't figure out what it is.I should pull more weed, but I am to lazy.![]()
Just waiting till I can harvest my first pumpkins.
Are the vines and leaves sitting right on the ground? Sometimes the moisture from the ground causes mold. Try putting some plastic down under the vines.Everytime I do melons or from the melon family, pickles, cukes, and zucchini I get a good crop for awhile then a powdery fungus takes over and kills them. Last year, my watermelons and cantaloupes were trellised and some were allowed to spread out across the ground, whatever it use started at the top. Everything else was also trellised off the ground. This is what the pickling cukes plant looked like before it actually stopped growing. Are the vines and leaves sitting right on the ground? Sometimes the moisture from the ground causes mold. Hmm well, I planted the first time pumpkins in this year and two of them where kinda soft and fell off. They were still small, I don`t know what it could have been, all the rain made them foul or fungus. I checked the other ones, they are not soft at all. Hope was only the rain.Everytime I do melons or from the melon family, pickles, cukes, and zucchini I get a good crop for awhile then a powdery fungus takes over and kills them. Most vine plants have male and female flowers, of course, one needs to pollinate the other, sometimes the female flower will start a fruit but will die if not pollinated.Hmm well, I planted the first time pumpkins in this year and two of them where kinda soft and fell off.
