What did you do in the garden today?

Still no frost here, it's been very mild so far. Rain forecast this weekend, if it stops long enough I will tidy the border at the front and take the rest of the frost tender plants into the greenhouse.

Turned on the watering system. Stood and stared at the garden, wishing the Garden Genie would stop by and clean the weeds out. Thinking of what to do with 14 different types of tomatoes. Thinking I should have planted more than 7 serrano plants. Should have planted another tabasco tree.

I should pull more weed, but I am to lazy

Just waiting till I can harvest my first pumpkins.

Everytime I do melons or from the melon family, pickles, cukes, and zucchini I get a good crop for awhile then a powdery fungus takes over and kills them. Can't figure out what it is.
Are the vines and leaves sitting right on the ground? Sometimes the moisture from the ground causes mold. Try putting some plastic down under the vines.

Last year, my watermelons and cantaloupes were trellised and some were allowed to spread out across the ground, whatever it use started at the top. Everything else was also trellised off the ground. This is what the pickling cukes plant looked like before it actually stopped growing.

The flood waters didn't reach our home but I did see a boat on a street leading to another village yesterday.

I just spent ten minutes searching my den for cat poop. The smell was awful. The cats are good at doing their business outdoors but there is the occasional overnight mishap and I thought that was the cause of the foul smell. I found nothing. Then I spotted Mrs. TT in the garden with her back pack spray kit spraying the mango trees. She had made an 'organic' bug spray for treating her fruit bushes and trees. She's very proud to be making her own all natural bug killer and fertiliser but the stink is something repulsive!

She just finished and came indoors. I think that she will be in her shower room for quite some time!

Hmm well, I planted the first time pumpkins in this year and two of them where kinda soft and fell off. They were still small, I don`t know what it could have been, all the rain made them foul or fungus. I checked the other ones, they are not soft at all. Hope was only the rain.

Most vine plants have male and female flowers, of course, one needs to pollinate the other, sometimes the female flower will start a fruit but will die if not pollinated.
