What did you do in the garden today?

I dug a hole for a Raspberry plant and planted some more snapdragons. I have lots of starts but I still need to get rid of the indigenous weeds. The bellpeppers are ready to be planted but I think its too soon. I bought some purple asparagus but it says to plant them in a raised garden and the chipmunk ate what I planted there already and I don't know that I want to risk it. Perhaps I can make room in the flower barrels.

Got back from vacation and took the hotcaps off the comfrey - they look great! Even the root cuttings are starting to sprout.

The veggie harden has to wait a few days; I need to finish my taxes.....

Can't do a whole lot, it's 1/3 tilled and now flooded with all this wet weather lately. Lots of sprouts under the grow lights, hope the garden dries enough for tilling soon.

For those that sprout seeds indoors, what grow lights do you use? Some of our seeds did phenomenal, but we have to replant some and want to give them a better shot this time instead of just relying on natural light.

I am not sure you can get a definite answer on the chives. Some seeds will sprout for years and some won't sprout the next. I keep mine in the bottom shelf of the fridg in a bag. Maybe the chives just need more time to sprout?
Found an answer!!! Friend has volunteers from her established patch of chives and wants to get rid of some!!!! ( I'm giving up on seeds for now; will put them in refrig in case they need a bit of "winter" to sprout. )

I may be a bit behind but I can almost get to my bed with out a boat now. lol
So I planted some lettuce, bell pepper, radishes, basil, rosemary, thyme and some cantaloupe. I have to get to the shed to find a bucket for some tomato plants again.

Will definitely see my friend and get some sug up chives from her. She says hers flower and send seeds everywhere!! Just like at my mothers years ago. SO she has more than enough to share!!!...Would like to get enough to put up chopped chives in glasss mason jars for the winter; sort of freeze dried.

How are you set for garlic?? As in can you find the ground yet and can you dig out a few for shipping???

I didnt know what to buy after a bit of researching. LEft me totally mixed up what to select; too many choices. So while at the hardware store picked up the Jump Start Grow Light system. 24 wattts, 2000initial lumens; 6400k-full day light spectrum t-5 tube rated for 20,000 hours. It has worked well in past years for good strong starts.

( Need the ext cord to get it plugged in again for this year.)
