What did you do in the garden today?

My raspberries are starting to ripen. I get a handful every day. Crossing my fingers that I will have enough ripe at one time to make raspberry jam! We have a good amount of raspberries.

My tomatoes are not doing great this year. Lots of yellow and dying leaves. I will need to research it further, but any ideas how I can prevent or treat that?

I really babied my raspberries by fertilizing them well and creating a trellis system for them, They are paying off in spades! Today I picked 18 cups of them, with much more still out there. I hope we can turn them into jam before they spoil. Other than that, I spread frass and super phosphate around many plants. I'm done.

I'm with you on liking to use a toothpick. Okay, tonight's stir fry was quite slap-dash: leftover chicken cut up, sliced carrots, sliced onion, and the greens. Used some soy sauce and cornstarch and kept it simple. It worked out fine. I recently bought a cast iron wok and love the results. It's an easy way of getting dinner on.
NICE ! We tend to use what ever is on hand.

KentuckyMom, at least your corn came up. Nary a sign of all the seeds I planted around five weeks ago.
Darn, I had the same thing happen. Big gaps in the row. Though honestly I'm happy to see the little seedlings as the corn DH planted fed the local chipmunks.

@Bugseye
Some came up, some didn't. I replanted part of the rows a few weeks ago, so I have some tall corn and some itty-bitty corn. We'll see what happens.
Wasnt sure I should replant. How important is the 4 x 4 blocking for fertilizing?

Freeze until you have enough berry and enough time.

Anyone here grow Luffa gourds?
Want to-- a future p lan!!

Of course I watered yesterday, so it rained. Thunderstormed, actually, and my shallow corn looks horrible leaning this way and that. Trying to prop it up and at least get a few ears for decorations. (If fertilization was OK)

I have in the past , fun little novelty plant...not really something I would want to grow all the time..(unless I had a market for the "sponges"....)

As I mentioned in another post....they are edible when very young....kinda taste like a cross between okra and squash....

What I keep forgetting to grow is sweet potatoes....I like to eat the vines, too...

Another overlooked vegetable is pinto beans....picked small...cooked with a little salt and bacon...have taste to rival Italian or Kentucky Wonder beans....(you do need to cook them a little longer to get them tender)....

Worked in the greenhouse with the overhead sprinklers on, 38C with the water on...
Very surprised by some over sized tomato cutting actually working (cool!)
Tossed 5 gallons of coffee grounds all over (outdoor beds as well) hoping it wards off slugs... The addition of a layer of hay for mulch brought droves of those buggers out...
Added more wood mulch to the pepper bed. Now to tackle the cucumbers... Crazy mess...
Leaving Sunday for a week, hope it doesn't all die on me...
