What did you do in the garden today?

Quote: Oh my I am so sorry you are having trouble with your eyes. It's wonderful that the migraines are better for your sake.
It is not an easy thing to deal with. You do need to be very careful one other thing that also effects our eyes is our blood pressure.

Thank you. I will try to get a leaf into a nursery to see if they can tell me how to treat it.

My Garden is thriving right now. We had some good rain this last week and everything looks happy! Even my peppers that I transplanted very late after they developed nice roots (I accidentally planted on top of beets thinking the beets were simply not going to sprout) have made a successful recovery. We are eating lots of broccoli and have just started getting zucchini. I'm going to weed in the morning

I showed your garden to my hubby. This man is not a gardener. He is a lawn mower. More specifically, I call him "Mr. Mows-it-all!" when he climbs on his ride-on mower with optional cup holder. He puts on his head-phone radio and goes into a state of Mower's bliss. Nothing is safe from him. Any how... this non-gardener, who mows all things green that he can get to with his mower... he looked at your pics, and said: "Now! That's what a garden should look like. A nice border around it. No vines creeping into the grass! With a garden like that, you wouldn't yell at me!!!"

Mrs MVP your garden is looking great.

My broccoli is that size and has not started producing yet. I wonder if it is because I don't have any bees?
Bees only pollinate open flowers . You eat broccoli flowers before they open . So no the lack of bees is not the problem . Be patient they should produce flower buds .

I love broccoli from my garden (cauliflower and cabbage too)! The main thing I learned about cauliflower was to harvest it when it's ready and not to let it stand. The aphids got mine last year. None for them this year.

Yesterday I was able to get zinnias and a few herb plants planted. More rain today. I think I'm getting webs growing between my toes from all this rain!

on the positive side, everything is lush and green

May I ask why you plant Zinnias? I plant them purely for the flower "prettiness". A good reason IMO but was wondering if there's another purpose for them?
