This is from a couple days ago now, but we got the tomato and tomatillo plants planted! I have a little herb garden that I didn't take a picture of, but I had no idea how many different species of normal everyday herbs there really are!

Try layering . Just bend a cane down and cover with dirt or a rock . Cut it free next year . I have no luck with cuttings either .How do you root your rose cuttings? I've always taken softwood cuttings, stripped the bottom leaves, dipped in rooting hormone, and stuck in potting soil, and they've always died. I cover the plant with a plastic bag to create sort of a greenhouse.

Going to try fruit trees this year . On plums many will send up root suckers . All the native plums do .Grafted plums are on root stocks that usually do not sucker . You could try root cuttings on plum .Even with geraniums, I find that using the older hardened stems is the only way to get them to root. If the stem is soft and "new" it just rots. I've never had luck with rose cuttings. I plan to layer my high bush cranberry.
Jerry, have you had any luck layering fruit trees? I have some seedling plums that I'd love to propagate. Would love to propagate one of my hybrid apricots also. And, how bout starting apples and pears from seed. Any tricks there?
You talking about Geranium Sanguineum?

I love that plant also. Grows super well, just about anywhere, re-seeds readily, non invasive. Cut it back after flowering, and it will re-bloom repeatedly.
Do you have part of this buried in the dirt?[/URL]![]()
