What did you do in the garden today?

@politicalcenter last question hopefully: do you have a greenhouse, or do you create that effect with plastic bag covers? I've used bags in the past, but I failed to provide good air circulation by removing the bags periodically. This year I'm trying a clear tote upside down over the plants and sitting on my south-facing, but covered front porch, for that bright, indirect light, I hope. The decking has spaces, so air can come up from underneath. It's so humid in Maryland, I'm surprised I need anything!

. Right now I am using an old 3 tier mini greenhouse covered with plastic under roof outside out of direct sunlight. I have used my west facing front porch with no cover and misting at least twice a day. Some cuttings like creeping phlox I just stick in cell packs and keep them out of the direct sun keeping the soil moist. I have used aquariums, plastic covering, and nothing. Right now I have an empty greenhouse and a shade house. I don't want to buy a cooler so I cut off the plastic and cover it with a shade cloth. No fans, no electricity, and no bill. In the winter I will take down the shade cloth and cover with plastic. I am considering heating with horse manure. We have mild winters here and a lot of stuff can stay outside during the winter.

Thanks! I've learned a lot from all the great responses today!

Today I planted cuttings of lavender, Rosemary, French tarragon, and zepherine drouhin (sp?) rose. Sprayed (organic) for spider mites on the roses, and cleaned out the coop and treated for ants with DE and cornmeal.

Thanks again!

Busy getting the house ready to put on the market, so not enough attention to the garden :(
This image isn't very good at showing it, but something has eaten the leaves off this parsley stalk and completely denuded another. I've been treating for slugs, voles and cabbage worms and am not sure what to do next. Poor garden. The tomatoes are chlorotic, so I've got to help them too--and just when I thought I had some great soil going...
