What did you do in the garden today?

I finally started putting some cow manure on the garden beds! The neighbor moved his small herd on Saturday, so I got a wheelbarrow full of the stuff and spread it around. I'm hoping it'll compost over the winter. I still have more to do, but it's a start. I've blocked off the chickens, since everything I put ON the beds, they scratch and dig it off. I'm getting ready to move them to their new coop and run anyway.

Yeah.

That's amazing Dan! What're you going to do with all the fruits?

I know! And to think I was starting to give up on them when they didn't start blooming until July. I'm going to make them into sponges and sell them at the farmers market come spring.

My brother in law got this from a co worker and gave it to us, I think it's the coolest looking pumpkin I've seen.

My final sweet potato harvest, I think I'm going to replant the little teeny tiny ones (far right, most are about pencil thickness) and see if I can't get them to come up in the spring.

You should.. you're giving me major sweet potato goals lol I have some I planted late but I don't think they're going to make anything this year.

:D Lol, I wish you the best of luck. My plan was to leave them in the ground till the first frost (they'd probably all be nice sized then) but after the pigs last trip to my garden :somad they pretty much ate all the vines making it hard to find the base and then the vines started dying so I figured I better pick now while I could see some of the vines.
