What did you do in the garden today?

I built 7 new raised beds around the old part of my garden, ( expansion ).
below are a few pictures of the old part of my garden and a diagram of what my garden will be this season.

Yesterday, I planted 3 kinds of peppers, 4 - 5 kinds of tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, 3 kinds of cabbage, jewel weed, took 10 cuttings of geranium. Bought a purple sweet potato to grow slips. Have 4 slips of standard sw. potato started, a bunch more rooting in water. Top of incubator makes a nice place to start seeds! Need to get grow lights going down stairs, and transplant first peppers, rosemary and asparagus seedlings. Busy time of year!

I am glad someone else plants flowers in the vegetable garden. My neighbor called me a hippie.

No veggie garden is complete without flowers. My faves for ease of planting: calendula and nasturtium. Also must have marigold.

My elephant garlic is doing really well this year, the stalks are about 2 to 2 1/2 inches thick and at least 18 inches tall.

It was in the 70's here today, so cleaned out some flower beds. Back in the 50's tomorrow and through next week. Going to try and set up some more grow lights, would like to start more seeds tomorrow...since it is going to rain. Might as well garden indoors!
