What did you do in the garden today?

Hope to get tomatoes picked this weekend. Yesterday’s list did not get done so today's list is longer. Rain at the end of week so our 90’s will be gone. Coops need cleaning while everything is still dry. That tops the list. I do have a guy coming with a backhoe to work on the pond but I’m third or fourth on his list in the neighborhood so that may not happen today. Suns up so I’d better get moving.

It is raining on and off, and blowing. Went out and put up a tarp on the north side of the run between rain showers. Most of the chickens were back in the coop. They need to toughen up.
Shot my .308 Savage Rifle for the first time today after husband sighted it in. Hit the bulls eye at 100 yards second shot! That was fun. Not much kick compared to shot gun, but sure loud!

Good for you ... Have not shot myself in several years but was a crack shot back then have popped off with a BB gun and still hit the mark about 3 years ago with just part of my one eye felt really good

Really glad you haven’t shot your self in several years. :lau

Been in and out today. Need to lube the tractor bucket before the guy gets here with backhoe. Maybe get to garden today.
Coop is as done as it will be till I get some leaves raked up.

Did not get the last tomatoes out of garden yet. Did let the chickens into the other garden yesterday.
Something ate about 50 apples from my tree in the past week. Was going to pick last weekend but they are all gone except one Granny Smith apple that an ant had started. I have eliminated the possibility of a deer doing it as they usually eat the leaves as well. It is fenced pretty well and they did get in once when I left the gate open.

The squirrels took about 200 apples off our tree when we were on vacation one year. They eat a bit, drop it and go get another one. After that he thinned them out with a pellet gun. Tree rats!
