What did you do in the garden today?

I planted some more parsley, dahlia seed, onion, chive, tomato, pepper, cucumber seeds today. Garden is still buried under at least a foot of snow, but I saw a bit of the HK mound sticking up through the snow today. This is the first sighting of soil in my yard (other than paths) since mid November!

Not the same learn patience with old age
living in washington state on western side we can get snow as late as april
or none at all or torrential rain 30 days on end just
get use to it

No rain today and the sun came out. It was so nice!

I planted sweet purple onions in amongst my strawberries. I planted my sugar snaps & put up their chicken wire trellis. I moved my butterfly bush to the front yard. I had it in the corner of my BTE garden, but since I took it down, the bf bush was out in the middle of the yard. I also took apart my asparagus bed. The new bed is supposed to go up this weekend. I hope anyway.

Really? I've never grown them together, but the companion charts I've seen said onions & strawberries do well together. The pungent smell of the onions help keep pest away from the berries.

Never a problem. I grow garlic in my strawberry bed. In Florida, where strawberries are an annual crop, they plant sweet onions in the same bed. By the time the strawberries are finishing up, the onions are about 1# each, and getting ready for harvest.
