What did you do in the garden today?

Whatever that is.

Lol. Thanks for linking that explanation, IgorsMistress. CapricornFarm, I am jealous of that beautiful pile of half rotting wood and if I had the space and material like you seem to I would do Hugelkultur. There seen to be folks on BYC that do/researched this nontraditional gardening technique. Happy gardening!!

You have pear trees?! I’ve always wanted fruit trees. Specifically peach and pear. I even have fruit tree and grafting fruit trees books from my grandmother from the early 60s. Do you grow only pears

or do you have any others?

I have pear seedlings, and one little stub that is the result of 2 unsuccessful attempts at grafting.

I put in a varied orchard several years ago. It's a work in progress, and not yet fruitful.

2 apple, 1 June Berry, 2 apricot, 2 plum, peach, 2 hazelbert, low bush cranberries, lingonberries, elderberries. I also have raspberries that are very productive.

TGIF! It's supposed to be warm and sunny here until late Sunday, so I'm gonna get the peppers and tomatoes planted out and set up the arch for the cukes and zukes. And finish cutting the bamboo for teepees, and...you get the idea. Told my teen that he's on his own for food because I'm going to be out in the dirt. :)

I’ve got berries but there with my vegetable garden. The goats got the blueberries at the same time they got the strawberries but the blueberries were very productive anyway. Horse replanted my strawberries this year but I do have some blackberries growing and a couple of grape plants I’m going to try this year. My grandmother had a huge trellis in her backyard she would always grow grapes over and I always remember my Hands being purple from picking up those Concorde grapes when I was over there. They would stay in my hand for days and now that she’s passed I’m going to get it out of her yard for my grapes. Just seems right

You definitely Have To post how your fruit trees are doing Through the process.I’m fascinated by them. I have no room right now. I see a perfect spot but unfortunately there’s lots of really big trees growing there already. But those trees don’t feed me

The one thing I didn’t plant this year. I believe it was the main cause of my aphid invasion. I heard a little trick about getting rid of moles and voles and didn’t somebody post earlier they were having trouble with them?
