What did you do in the garden today?

Is this a county ordinance or in HO a thing? Some of these county ordinances are crazy. Until enough people went to my county board you had to have 5 acres to own even one chicken or bees At one point it actually said you needed to acres to even till your land.. But these things change when people start talking to them. Somebody needs to start the train

I like the idea of bees a lot, but I'm going to wait until my son graduates and moves to college. Most weekends I have a herd of large teenage boys playing soccer and wrestling and hitting one another with sticks and whatever else they can find. The chickens just hide out in the hedge, but it wouldn't be that restful for the bees.

I planted edamame that dunnmom sent me! And purchased the lumber and borrowed the tools for my shed/coop renovation. I've measured everything, and now just waiting for things to dry out some. We've had rain for the last two days and it's swampy. Had snow peas in the stir fry this weekend, and the romaine is delicious!

Hiding bees is only tricky because the front of the hive has to be fairly open for a ways. Nothing more than a few inches higher than the hive entrance in the immediate 5' in front, and fairly low/open for a good ways out the rest of the way. Behind the hive you can put a 20' high wall and they won't care. If you have a nook on your property near a building or hedge line that is out of sight of your neighbors you could easily stick a hive and a feeder there without anyone seeing it.
Bees are nearly silent and because bees are a normal every-day occurrence in most people's lawns, as long as they don't have line of sight nobody would be any the wiser.
I'm imagining like a corner between like a garage and a 4' L-shaped hedge. Put the hive on a couple cinder blocks facing out of the corner and nobody would be able to tell they're there. So if it were me, I'd do something like this probably;

NOT that I advocate breaking any laws or anything. ;) And it is genuinely always better to see if you can get the law changed anyhow.
