What did you do in the garden today?

It got hot already. :(

I am trying to get my tomato cages built.

So far just one but I need 11.

The other rungs are drying.

Checked my seedlings in the flats (peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce) and checked to make sure all my potted flowers were watered. I've gotten a very, very late start on the garden this spring because of torrential rains, resodding the yard, and generally being busy with other things.

Goals for this weekend:

- Level the yard where chicken coop is going to be installed

- Plant four hydrangea bushes

- Plant a sh*t-ton more vegetable seedlings in seed flats

- Buy some started vegetables

- Plant ten daylilies

- Weed bed along the pool

- Plant four blueberry bushes/clear brush in berry patch

- Buy like, 40 bags of peat moss and garden soil and start amending pronto

wow they use to be really cheap like at walmart but yours are really nice

My tomatoes tend to get 6-8' tall. The wind blows them over when I try to use the wire cages.
I made the cage to be 6' tall so should be able to hold the tomatoes.

I have never seen wal marts cages so I had no idea they had wood ones.

They cost me about 18 bucks to make including hardware.
